| Summary | 0012786: Unable to load saves: shows "failed to find compatible mod" after reinstalling the game | ||||
| Description | The game was recently uninstalled, and later reinstalled in another HD. The backup saves were restored to the 'save' game folder accordingly, and were loading fine. After some weeks of not playing the game, it was launched and then the following error appears at every attempt of loading any modded save: "failed to find compatible mod", followed by a mod name The name of the missing mods vary from save to save - though every mod claimed as missing is correctly installed and in their default Steam folder for DF mods. I already tried (to no avail): - unistalling/reinstalling the mods - deleting/restoring the mods to their folder - uninstalling/reinstalling the game - verifying gamefiles integrity, restoring the saves to its folder afterwards Also, the option for adding mods to new worlds has just disappeared. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | I really don't know. What I did before the error started occurring: - verified integrity of game files on Steam - manually restored my backup saves folder to the game's folder it should work fine up to this point; then - uninstall/reinstall the game in another HD (SSD) - manually restore the backup saves and then the saves won't open, showing the aforementioned error message. | ||||
| Additional Information | I can't tell if that problem is related to how Steam-version DF indexes savefiles and mods, maybe regarding the install HD change. What I can assure though is that the saves stopped opening after I verified the game file integrity, uninstalled, and reinstalled the game to another HD | ||||
