| Summary | 0012896: Dragon marches outside my gate but if I dare close it the game lags to 8 FPS. | ||||
| Description | I sent my trained army of dwarves to raid a goblin outpost for 2 kids that were stolen and while they were gone a dragon showed up so I locked my front gate. However, one dwarf remained outside and evaded the dragon and made her way to the gate, and when I opened the gate for her to enter all the lag was gone despite fire raging outside. The dragon then sped toward my fortress and I was lucky to have doors to lock to dissuade it. I think that the dragon is flooding the processing power of the game with fruitless calculations trying to get inside my base. Or something. It could do with the crystal lizards and halfling mods I installed but I'm afraid this might be a bigger issue than mod support. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Make a gate out of a bridge, the only way in and out of a fortress filled with dwarves. (potentially send some out on a random quest) Wait™ for dragon to arrive and lock it out. | ||||

Dragons are building destroyers, and building destroyers use special (and extremely CPU-expensive) pathfinding to get into your fortress. A single dragon shouldn't be causing that much lag, but groups of a dozen Trolls are known to drag framerates down to single digits. |
