| Description | Three times I have crashed in DF, twice by a somewhat consistent manner. The first lost me an 8 hour fort and made me do seasonal saving. In the first instance, I was trying to train an axedwarf by having it kill things. In the second instance, I was also trying to get an axedwarf to kill something. It definitely revolves around combat in some manner, that much seems certain. Whether being an axedwarf matters or not, I'm not sure. The third and latest happened just trying to hit 's' to look at my squads. My dwarf picked up a bronze dagger as a weapon when I unforbid it from a corpse (and he was apparently set to wield whatever he wanted and didn't like being an accomplished wresler), so I booted him from the squad, and was going to add him back in after he stripped when it crashed. He had a fair amount of dagger skill before I caught him. I'm not sure why it crashed in that instance. I kicked him (There was one other dwarf in the squad), opened the barracks to make him stop training, and had a dwarf rejoin to get him to equip a steel hammer instead of a copper one he got attached to. But in that case, he was the only dwarf. Is it a phantom of the dagger issues? I believe in my current save he still has the dagger (Since I lost a season), I'll see if I can reproduce it trying to get him to wield a sword again. | ||||

Yeah, reproducibility is critical here. Save often, and hopefully you'll get one that can be easily coaxed into crashing. If you get a crashing save, you can upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ |
