| Summary | 0004079: Dorfs not moveing stones out of the way when constructing buildings | ||||
| Description | I've had several occurrences now where dorfs refuse to move stones that are beneath a construction site, and instead suspend construction. The stones are however likely to have been chosen as building blocks for a large masonry project that I have ongoing, so they've probably just been locked to prevent work item misplaced errors. Still, it would be nice to not have sections of my fort in which I am unable to build simply because I have a project ongoing. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Start a fort, Dig up some rocks, Designate a large C-Menu construction using all of the material the rocks are made of to guarantee that they are all designated to be used, then try to build something on top of them, with a different material. | ||||

Yeah it sounds like the items are tasked, which means the other dwarves are waiting for them to be used in the construction project you've designated. I think this therefore falls under 0001673, but that one's kind of a mess. |

This is expected behavior. Unless you move the materials first (stockpiles, dumps, etc.), then they will be tasked and won't be moved until the dwarfs get to that portion of the construction that it is designated for. If you find the stones are tied up because of suspended jobs and don't have a TSK indicator, continue the discussion in 0001027. |
