Summary0005253: Stockpiles stop claiming new barrels/pots (and bins?) after a while
DescriptionAfter getting about 60 or so barrels and pots of food in my food stockpile none of the dwarves are putting any more in the pile and the farmers are just putting the plump helms and fish in new slots. As a result it is just filling rapidly with plump helmets despite there being about 20 pots and barrels in my furniture storage available.

Every now and them a random idle guy will move a piece of food into an existing barrel that has some food taken out of it (likely from eating) but that is it. From what I remember random idles should do this sort of thing condensation anyway

I made the stockpiles by having standard food piles and then forbidding the drink and seed. Farmers have Furniture and Food hauling enabled though it shouldn't make much difference. (additional options is all allowed)
Steps To Reproducemake a largish stockpile (10x10) and numerous have barrels and pots get used up with food
Additional InformationCould be a stockpile settings issue but the settings appear practically the same as that of a standard food stockpile and they seem fine.
I haven't tried with using only barrels or pots yet. (Maybe the pots take up like 10 of the "Max barrels" slots at a time or something?)
Same thing was happening in my 0.31.25 fort last week.
I have been using Dwarf Therapist 0.6.11, of course.
From my searching something like this was fixed in 0.31.23 and there was no other recent reports of this same sort of thing so it is likely me.

When looking around I noticed my bookkeeper was doing a stock report at the office whilst hauling a pot which seemed very odd (it is a few z-levels down, same as the beds but towards the SE with the stone smoothing).

I marked this bugs 'reproducibility' as sometimes because I only have gotten this far on 2 forts and havent done any other testing (all pots or barrels etc) yet

Save file coming once it has uploaded (my upload speed is about 23kBps) DFFD cant seem to take it (it stops around 5%) probably due to lack of speed, is dropbox okay?

DFFD is way preferable but dropbox is better than nothing.

Okay I tried again with DFFD this morning and its the same story so here is a dropbox version http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3034513/df/region1.zip. It took about 70 to 80 mins to upload. The world was genned and played in 0.34.01 and is about 83MB zipped.

Yes, this is strange - that original food stockpile simply doesn't like to add new barrels/pots. You can make a new identical stockpile and it will accept new barrels/pots like normal. If you subsequently delete the new stockpile, the barrels/pots that are *used* will be taken to the old stockpile, but it still doesn't seem to want to accept any new empty barrels/pots. Save compat issues prevents this from being tested in 34.02.

Given the singular instance of this, along with the save compat breaks in the 34.xx and 40.xx series and the changes to hauling, whatever was happening here was most likely residually fixed. If we get an updated instance of this in the 40.xx series, we can reopen this report.
