Summary0005402: dwarves will not haul food to stockpiles
DescriptionAfter working normally for some time, sometime dwarves just won't haul food to stockpiles anymore. They won't haul roasts from the kitchen to prepared-food stockpiles, to default food stockpiles, or to custom stockpiles set to enable food. Nor do they haul plants in from the field or meats from the butcher. Harder to be sure, but it seems like they aren't hauling rotten roasts to the refuse pile either. Have tried with new stockpiles, saving and re-loading, quitting and re-loading.

Many dwarves have food hauling enabled; I set one to have no labours except food hauling, but he just hangs out in the meeting area with "No Job".

Sounds similar to some other reports that have been closed, notably 0003719.

 Are your stockpiles full? They will leave stuff sitting around if they are.

(edit: The original stockpiles, not the new ones.)

No, that's the problem: my stockpiles are gradually emptying while roasts rot in the kitchen. Turning off cooking only delays the inevitable: starvation.

This is actually the second fort where I've had this happen. I don't think it's anything I'm doing wrong - I've been playing DF for five years- but I guess I could be. I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but I'm not sure how it's triggered. Out of four fortresses since 0.34.01 came out, this has happened twice.

The 0.34.02 bugged savefile is uploaded at http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=5671

Unfortunately, I deleted the first instance, which was for 0.34.01.

Tested the save.
You have "Dwarves ignore food" option set.
After setting it to "Dwarves gather food" by pressing o->r, they started hauling it.
