| Summary | 0005427: game freezes when I save | ||||
| Description | I managed to generate a fairly large world with a 550 year history, which took several hours. Now I'm able to play fortress or adventure mode, and it seems to behave normally, if a bit slower than a previous version. But whenever I try to save, in either mode, the game immediately freezes. When I open the task manager, it tells me that the program is not responding, so I have to force it to close. Also, I don't understand why the game is opening through CrossOver, like a Windows program. I'm using the the Unix executable to start the game, which seems like it should just open the Terminal and then launch, but it's launching CrossOver, as well. Don't know if that could be the problem? | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | All I have to do is start a game, and then try to save, and it will freeze every time. I don't know if there are other contributing factors. | ||||

Saving can take a long time, especially if compression is enabled and even more especially if the embarked area or the world is large. Is it still frozen after a couple of minutes? Check if it's getting time and disk I/O in your performance application of choice. |

I thought it might just be taking a while, but when I open the task manager, it says the application isn't responding, which usually means a crash, I think. But I'll check it out again. |

Okay, false alarm, it is just taking much longer to save than I expected. Took about 4 minutes this last time, I think. |
