| Description | I dug a 4*8 pond in my courtyard, which is partially decked over (the whole pond is covered, though). When the winter freezing set in, only parts of the pond froze. Could you please post the savegame? Also, most likely you're straddling two biomes there. One biome can be cold enough for it to freeze, but the biome next to it isn't quite cold enough for it to freeze. |

I doubt it's biome straddling issue, depending on how biome boundaries work, however (strict block boundaries or meandering borders approximated by blocks). The biome layout was described as this: 113 112 112 in my 3*3 zone. The pond is located in the middle upper tile, which has the same biome as the frozen river (upper left) and murky pools (all "1" tiles, I think). Also, the unfrozen side edge is towards the frozen river, not away from it. Looking underground, the pond is located well within the sandy area covering the aquifer. However, I can't rule out a small tongue of a non site biome encroaching from outside the map, as I haven't dug out directly north and below of the pond.
