Summary0009105: Flying titan hovering high up in the air.
DescriptionMy fortress was attacked by a flying titan. The titan killed a few storks and then proceeded to just hover in the air 12 times above the ground and 4 tiles above the roof of my orchard rather than trying to path into the fortress (first save).
A stork came too close to it and was killed and the titan started to over in a new position about the same distance for the fortress and a the same altitude. I built a platform from the roof and fired 21 ballista bolts at it (minor injuries only, 16 wooden bolts, 4 steel tipped, one steel tipped dodged) before another stork came too close, was killed, and the titan shifted to a new position one Z level lower (second save).

The titan is able to detect and attack dwarves on the ground below it from the position of first save, but sending militia up to the roof didn't result in any reaction.

Earlier in the game I have shot down 3 albatrosses that camped immobile in the air for 5 or so years (but they DID move when floor building came too close for comfort, only to relocate to new fixed positions). The albatrosses may be from the same group that got 3 members caught in cage traps during an invasion. The albatross info may or may not be relevant, but it looks like a similar stationary behavior.

I encountered a similar issue about a year ago with a titan or FB (there was a cave to the caverns) that chased some airborne critters before hovering 3 tile above the ground ignoring the wide open fortress entrance as well as juicy door baits.
Additional InformationUsing Dwarf Therapist, announcement filter, and DFHack with Truetype bugfix and Peformance Tweaks enabled, and using the Phoebus tile set and TWBT print mode. DF is packaged in the Lazy Newb Pack r16.

The two save positions are copied into a folder called "save" but isn't actually the original save folder: http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11227
