| Description | As the game of Dwarf Fortress progresses (~30min), the buttons become "sticky". With a steadily increasing frequency, the buttons will continue to be active even when released and have to be re-pressed to trigger the release. As the game continues further, keys will start triggering themselves without prompt. Just before posting this report, I was having big problems as the exit button would trigger whenever, letter keys would get stuck when typing management commands and continue to be pressed when command is exited,the enter key would cause the shift key to trigger (without release) and the shift key would cause the '6' key to trigger (No release) on the num-pad, with occasion getting stuck itself (The shift key). | ||||

Sounds similar to a problem that used to crop up on OS X, although more dramatic. That had been characterized largely by the delete key not working, but would lead to increasing trouble with keys 'sticking' and escape being triggered accidentally. For me, it seemed that toggling escape to the save menu would provide temporary relief, which might be diagnostic that it's essentially the same issue. Add a comment if any details of your keyboard layout / language encoding might be relevant. |
