UPDATE: Pressing Caps lock twice seems to have fixed the issue. No idea how it got started though. |
Strange. I tried the likely cause (a lot of games invert behavior if you toggle caps lock in-game, then toggle it again out-of-game) and didn't get any abnormal behavior. Are you sure you merely didn't have "CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL" on during the whole time you had this issue, then it was incidentally off when you tried again? |
On what screen(s) are you seeing this? For example, is it just when you're entering text, or does pressing "d" on the main fortress mode screen show depot access, and "shift-d" open the designations menu? Are you using any utilities? If so, have you reproduced the issue without them? (For that matter, is it easy to reproduce at all?) |
We need some sort of "difficulty reproducing" tag. :V |
Well? we ever going to get any response from the issue opener? I'm suspecting at this point that it was an "oops I had caps lock on lol" problem, and they ever forgot about it or don't feel like admitting to user error. :V |

Well It was only in b,d menus. It was strange at the time. once I fixed the issue I kinda just shrugged it off as a unreproducable weird bug. Like it persisted threw reboot. It only solved when I double pressed caps lock. I dunno how it happened. maybe it was just a sequence of events that temporarily confused it? Utility wise I had sound sense on and a tile set. |
Not sure the Sound Sense can cause this, but I've never used it. My guess (again) is either: 1. Pressing capslock in the window, moving out of the window, turning capslock off outside DF, then moving back into the window somehow breaks it with third-party sorcery or 2. User error (AKA oh wait did I have capslock on the whole time?) Have you had ANY luck reproducing this since then? |
