| Summary | 0010241: On startup, it says "Index" file must be in "data" folder, i've checked and it is. | ||||
| Description | The Error box says, "Main index file missing/corrupted. The file "index" must be in the "data" folder. Make sure DF decompressed into its folders properly." I am unsure how to make sure a file decompressed properly but i have never had issues similar to this with any files, including DF, before. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | For me, this error comes up every time i try to start DF. I am unsure how to reproduce this for others (as i only have 1 computer available to me). | ||||

Where did you download df from? Is it the vanilla program from bay12games or a pack of some kind with utils and stuff included? |

Have you extracted the zip file completely? Is the index file writeable? |

This is typically an issue with permissions, e.g. 0011721. Make sure you have installed DF in a folder that you can write to, and that you have permissions to read and write everything in the DF folder. |
