| Description | After you place a bookcase in building mode then tried to store a quire/book/any similar into it, there would be no option to store into the bookcase in containers menu. To work this out, you can put your book into a bookcase before placing it in the building mode. This however will not actually make you book stored in the bookcase and removed from you backpack or hands, instead it will make a phantom copy of your book. When you place a bookcase with phantom copy of the book into a fixed position through the building menu. Then try to get that phantom copy it will continuously produce another phantom copies of that book. When you drop it. It will no shows you a sprites or the usual tiles indicating a book, and you can't get it up from the ground. It will remain there as a phantom existence. | ||||

Not being able to interact with built bookcases in Adv mode is not limited to player-placed bookcases too. Tried to store an item and pick up/read books stored in built bookcases in a worldgen library and failed. (There were also non-built bookcases in the library for some reason. Those could be interacted with just fine.) |

Still an issue in 0.47.05. Although I'm not getting the phantom copies, If I take a book out of the built bookcase, I can drop and see it there, and pick it back up, and read it, and put it on a pedestal and see it there, etc. On a side note, I get the same behavior with armor and weapon stands (though fort mode or DFHack is needed to make and/or build them) - can put things in them when they're loose items, but not when built. |
