Summary | 0011232: Flying mounts cannot be controlled while flying.
Description | I started a new adventurer from an elven civilization so I could try riding a flying mount. I created an adventurer (an elk woman) and gave her a Giant Barn Owl. TI mounted my Giant Barn Owl and took off and the game appeared to freeze. However on closer inspection I noticed the in game light levels had changed and that I was now thirsty ,hungry and drowsy. It would appear that the game is progressing through many game steps which is why I cannot perform any more actions (checking inventory, look, movement etc). Eventually I died of thirst. I reloaded my game and fast traveled to the coast. I mounted my Giant Barn Owl and flew up one tile. I began moving at random until my owl touched down. From this I gather that I got stuck on a tree and couldn't finish uncontrolled flying before succumbing to thirst.
Steps To Reproduce | * Create an adventurer and give them a flying pet with [MOUNT_EXOTIC]. * Fast travel to an forested area and exit the fast travel screen. * Mount your flying pet. * Fly up a few Z-levels. After a few steps the game will appear to freeze. * Sit back and wait while your hunger, dehydration & drowsiness continue to increase. * Die of dehydration. * In open areas you will fly randomly for quite a while until your mount makes contact with the ground again.
Additional Information | So far I have only tested this using my save game with the giant owl.

The getting stuck until death appears to be reproducible if you walk off the corner of a tree canopy. |
|
This doesn't appear to apply to flying adventurers, as a bird-man I can ride a giant kea in the air just fine. |

Okay, this is fixed for next time. Tested an elf flitting around on a giant fly -- seemed to respond to all of my commands once I put the fix in, so hopefully that's it! |
