It's not a bug, but a version mismatch issue. Instruments and paper making/"book" construction was introduced after 0.40.24 and are not introduced into saves that did not have them. Likewise, items that are introduced after the version the world was created in don't appear either (pedestal/showcases and shrines). You'll find old (useless) type books in your world, but not the new ones, nor will you find art forms. Saves are backwards compatible in that they can still be used, but they're not updated to contain new contents. |
