Summary | 0012038: dwarves get stuck trying to kill flying unit, reported as 'no job' | ||||
Description | Very suddenly after I turned off a burrow a large number of my dwarves walked outside to the brook and started standing around. They all had "no job" listed. All of the dwarves started standing there dying of dehydration and hunger. I checked and made sure there was no meeting place or anything around keeping them there. Sometimes I was able to get a chunk of them to run away when assigning a job (like mining) near them. Even weirder is that any dwarves that walk past the area seem to get stuck as well. In this case I stationed my squads near them and suddenly they all stopped listening to orders and froze with the rest of them. Super weird, and not sure what exactly caused this, but I haven't been able to get them unstuck so far. This is a bug I ran into as well. My dwarves will have their positions locked with a bird that's way too high up, and they would be stuck there until they starve or become very thirsty. |

This is the second time writing this, but Problem is: Dwarfs that see enemy get locked into combat until either the enemy no longer exists or they are forced to re-path. You can teleport the glitched dwarfs with dfhack and they should resume business as usual until they see the enemy again. Their thoughts will be something like "This is a fight i cant loose". In my instance the dorfs would get locked into combat by seeing enemy olm men across an un-pathable water filled chasm, then somehow slowly (float) over empty space clinging to the walls until the enemies kill them one by one. Didnt know they can turn into cliff scaling mountain goats, but whatever... I just have that entire section of caves locked off until the enemies can be exterminated. |

This is somewhat similar to my problem i'm having with ballista where even if there is no path to the enemies the dwarfs manning the ballista will enter combat and refuse to shoot the ballista. https://steamcommunity.com/app/975370/discussions/0/3824160540172047955/ |
