| Description | This is a bug I found while embarking on a vault where angels wouldn't attack dwarves. I had figured out a way using DFhack to embark on vaults. I did so mainly because I wanted to see what the structure looked like and how many angels would be inside. As soon as I embarked a large group of angels came charging out and attacked my dwarves. I thought that this was the end since we were outnumbered even though they were only assistants however I was mistaken. The dwarves slowly inflicted wound after wound upon them and they weren't hit at all. Even the archangel came out and same thing no dwarves were harmed. The only dwarf that did die was due to a giant lizard. I was confused so I checked the combat logs and sure enough the angels didn't dish out one hit to the dwarves. They simply dodged or were getting hit. Something odd I noticed is when one of them got into a conflict with a giant lizard they did hit it. I am not sure if this bug also applies to angels found deep underground but it should be looked into. Update from email: I have an update and I think I have found the issue. Angel assistants and archangels are registered as domesticated livestock so they will not fight back. Soldiers on the other hand are intelligent and therefore cannot be domesticated so they are still able to attack. |

You can cause all sorts of unanticipated behavior in DF by using DFHack. Unless you can replicate the same behavior without using DFHack, we do not consider this to be a bug in DF. Please reopen or open a new issue if you can replicate this behavior without DFHack. |
