Summary | 0012701: Rescue prisoner quest failing due to the person the recipient wants to visit being under a false identity.
Description | I rescued a female goblin from a dwarven hillock, and upon arriving in the dark fortress she wanted me to go to where her sister lived, her sister wouldn't accept her and the quest wouldn't finish because her sister was living under a psuedonym. Her real name given to me by the prisoner was Ngokang Lionticks, but her fake name she went by was Estrur Terrorfloods. The quest is now impossible to complete.
Steps To Reproduce | Find an imprisoned historical figure Rescue them Bring them to the historical figure they want to be brought to that is under a fake name. Save: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eQklRxKobaPic3Pe50nLZcxxHmTpNYbO/view?usp=sharing
Additional Information | I am using some minor RAW mods, I also used DFHack to try and figure out the problem. RAW Mods: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LCpYAsJ2WxbfpjMs8yJ5M8LIM8MQanYN/view?usp=sharing

Interesting! Seems like a tricky issue. Quite apart from the question of whether they recognize each other, presumably the whole point of an assumed name is to be able to say, "Sorry, you've got the wrong person." But should that conflict be the quest-completer's problem, or not? Maybe it should, or maybe you should be able to say, "Look, game, I did what the quest said, so this should be a success from my point of view, even if it's a failure from the point of view of the quest-giver." I don't know — but it could be expected behavior. |
