Summary | 0012715: Military Kill Order Fails to Multi-target Ver 50.12
Description | Kill orders through the military menu cancel out the order without allowing for confirmation on selecting multiple targets. Selecting each one individually allows you to accept after the first target is selected, but on clicking a second you'll be kicked out to the military menu with having no confirm options and your selections cancelled. Likewise selecting creatures one at a time with the stamp/highlight tool will do the same. Selecting multiple creatures on the same elevation will not allow you to select any more as you'll be stuck on the confirmation screen showing all the creatures you highlighted with the ability to unselect some or all. You may however confirm the order. Selecting multiple creatures on different elevation will select none. (I think this is nothing new, but worth mentioning if I'm wrong). This makes it so that one squad can only be sent after one creature at a time unless they are on the same elevation as another enemy. This makes fighting multiple flying monsters incredibly tedious and/or dangerous.
Steps To Reproduce | Open any game and attempt to use the kill order on multiple creatures, either by selecting them individually, or highlighting one or multiple groups across elevation levels.
Additional Information | Reproducable regardless of when save file was generated, though I have not tested fortresses created on the current version. I am using DFHack 50.12-r1 though I have reason to believe given my intro knowledge of programming and testimony of a fellow player on the Steam discussions pages that this is not caused by DFHack. Timeout errors and subsequent scrubbing of bug reports for it is *insert expletives here* I really had to type this out and potentially forget stuff because of a timeout error.

Testimony from steam discussion: https://steamcommunity.com/app/975370/discussions/0/4295942652154073384/ that bug affects files created on current version as well. |

I have run into this as well, in a world created in 50.12-r1.1. This sounds silly to describe, but when selecting targets one at a time, it seems like something in the UI is happening very quickly when you click the second target. At first, I thought it was the box that appears when you click on a tile with multiple potential targets, which displays the checkboxes for selecting your targets. It looked to me like this box was popping up and then instantaneously disappearing, while also exiting the targeting mode and cancelling my selections. However, I was also able to replicate this when the second target was alone on a square—the same result with cancelled selections, but I don't know what would account for that brief jitter when selecting the second target. |

Want to add we have testimony from the Steam discussion that it is in no way mod related as the player has no mods installed. |
