Summary | 0012733: Saving the Game Randomly Leaves Out All Data Except world.sav
Description | I have glanced over these bug report boards several times but haven't found any thread or report that seems to be about this specific issue. Please let me know if there is one I haven't recognized. Sometimes, and I still can't be sure what causes it, the save file for my fort mode games will fail to include all unit files, art descriptions, basically everything that isn't world.sav. This in tern causes the game to forget art descriptions such as civilization and Site Symbols, and may also cause visitors to change whenever they visit again. This has happened several times in different worlds of different sizes as I've played the game. I do save the game regularly with manual saves, as well as leaving seasonal autosave on. But because I only notice the glitch when checking certain statues or engravings I've never been sure if it only happens when I "save and continue playing." Only very recently have I started using DFHack and it's quicksave feature instead. This issue is now incredibly minor for me, as when I figured out what exactly seemed to be happening I now keep several names savegames. When the glitch occurs and I notice it, I just copy and paste everything from the most recent file to my current one, and skip all with the same name. This seems to seamlessly restore all data and descriptions to my game without any issue or crashing. I am only reporting this now because it just happened once again in my latest fort and world, in game version 50.12
Steps To Reproduce | Unclear, I think it may only happen with manual saves and at random.
Additional Information | I have included a link to a G-Drive folder with two save files from the most recent occurrence of this saving glitch. One Autosave being the closest to before the glitch, and one save file where the glitch occured and most of the files have failed to be included. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-2JEA3soBQZS8x39H6LXZHfVL9GImukG?usp=sharing

Did you ever see the issue happen before you installed DFHack and started using its "quicksave" feature? |
|
Yes before I was using DF hack, I only started quicksaving a bit after the last instance of this glitch. |
