Summary0012761: Adventure Mode Beta Linux - Crash On Selecting Human Adventurer
DescriptionRight out of the gate here. The character creation crashes on selecting a human and then selecting your civilization. There are factors here though that might attribute to it. I used the largest map I could from the general settings, everything turned as high as it will go.
Steps To Reproduce1. Generate a very large world with everything turned up as high as it will go from the non-advanced settings.

2. Enter adventure mode and begin character creation.

3. Then simply select a human and select their (I always picked a southern civilization) civilization.
Additional InformationThis is really not a very complex bug from a game perspective, I don't know what else to add.

Oh I should probably note my specs.

Ryzen 5 4500 CPU
RX 6600 GPU
16 GB RAM
Game is on a 2 TB HDD

Oh I would also like to add I have multithreading enabled. That may be the issue. Let ,me disable it.

Nope, multithreading doesn't seem to matter. It crashes regardless of that setting.

Crashes on dwarves as well, so it's not human specific.

Let's try a medium world here.... All settings on default. No it still crashes. So it's not a world size issue. How bizarre.

Let's try a driver update. I think maybe it might just be a driver issue.

Driver update did not fix it.

I have run out of ideas. Sadly I will simply have to wait for a fix.

It's working for me on linux, I did a small 250 year world and chose an elf. RX 6900 XT, Ryzen 5800X, 32 GB RAM. There might be something specific triggering it. I am playing fullscreen at 3440x1440

Hmmm.... Well it seems to get past that point if I'm using the windows version on linux through steam proton. I guess that will have to do for now.

I have figured it out. It crashes in fullscreen with my 1280 x 1024 resolution for some reason.

I have a very old monitor is the reason. I think it's just something weird going on with the graphics.

Going windowed fixed it for you? It didn't for me.
