Summary | 0012924: Unit data gets Re-rolled if adventurer is part of a squad/occupying site
Description | If you start in a Dwarven-occupied hillocks, your occupation choice will not be used and you'll be considered a "soldier". If you fast-travel once, your unit will be scrambled - appearance, attributes and inventory will be re-rolled. However, "soul" and histfig data is untouched including your name. This must be erroneous and a consequence of squad/military mechanics and occupied sites getting in the way and wiping critical data of the unit. I also encountered this in a different world where I sent out an adventurer as part of a squad to occupy a site. Unretiring that adventurer wiped their appearance. My guess is, once the unit leaves the squad, the world scrambles the unit that left the military as if it needs to be given civilian clothes, but it overdoes it and regenerates everything about the unit. https://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=17146
Steps To Reproduce | To reproduce: * Pick "Dwarf" * Start in the dwarven-occupied Hillocks * If you see the rest of the dwarves are decked out in military gear, you are in correct state (They must be an occupiation) * fast-travel outside of the site, your unit data will get scrambled and you'll lose your attributes, appearance and inventory.
Additional Information | This is a critical issue for adventuring as it essentially wipes half of your progress clean. Incredibly frustrating and demotivating.

Further looking into it, it might actually be a result of unit culling/shuffled indexes? Perhaps it's not a re-roll but a straight up abduction of an existing unit body? This happened when I fast-travelled to the nearby goblin-occupied fortress. |
