Summary | 0012998: False names are revealed by clicking/editing on a character's name-plate. |
---|
Description | In Fortress Mode I had a werecamel visit my fort, so decided to re-name it so if the goblin showed up again in her untransformed state I would know to be on guard. Upon clicking the quill icon next to her name to rename the goblin, a different name than the one it was visiting under showed up. I suspected it was revealing the goblin's true name, so checked a few other visitors as well as members of my own fortress. The name change only occurred for one other visitor, a necromancer poet who was heavily armed and thus I had suspected of visiting under a false identity already. Sure enough, the same process of going to edit his name immediately revealed his true name/identity.

Steps To Reproduce | Find a character suspected of having a false name. Open their character menu. Click to edit their name-plate via the quill icon in the upper right hand corner of the menu. If they have a false identity currently in use, the name will immediately change to their true name while in the process of editing it. |

Additional Information | Only attempted in Fortress Mode, not using the beta/experimental branches so haven't tried it in Adventure Mode. |
