Summary | 0013264: Carpenter's workshop not accepting wood specifications from general work orders
Description | If you create a general work order to be carried out by a Carpenter's workshop, specifying the type of wood to be used, jobs will be carried out as if you hadn't specified the type of wood.
Steps To Reproduce | For example, I created a general work order, "Make goblin-cap door", and even though this exact text eventually appeared in the workshop, the dwarf executing the job hauled acacia logs in order to create an acacia door. The only way I have seen to ensure the right wood is used is to create the job directly in the workshop.
Additional Information | I believe this bug appeared with the latest version. I have been playing the game for the last several months, and since the beginning, I almost always specify the type of wood or stone to use (because I like creating themed areas in my forts). I believe I did not notice this before 52.03.

I also spotted this problem on 52.03 and were able to quickly reproduce it on completely new vanilla word. Some additional observations about the bug: - Not observed on 52.02. I specifically switched to older version in Steam Beta's menu and played there for several days with matching version of Advanced Agriculture and Advanced Orchards mods. - It affects carpenter's workshop (table, bed, chair at least) AND clothier's shop (plant bag at least). Other buildings so far (stoneworker's workshop, glass furnace) are working fine. - Does not seem to be specific to only acacia or goblin-cap. Had same issue with spore tree, tunnel tube, pig tail and cotton. - Using mods like Advanced Agriculture overhauling plant and wood materials does not resolve these issues. For clothier's shop, the same workaround also works: add single job, specify material, keep it repeating as much as you want. Should be easy to reproduce but I am glad to help if some additional help or save is needed. |
