Summary0013281: Water is not visible on top of glass bridges
DescriptionUsing a green glass bridge in an obsidian farm, it quickly became apparent that water is not visible on top of glass bridges, in either normal or show-depth setting. Mousing over the tiles themselves does show the water level in the tooltip that appears.
Steps To Reproduce1. Construct a bridge from glass blocks.
2. Pump water onto the bridge.
Additional InformationHave not checked if this is the case with magma.

Further testing shows neither water nor magma is visible on top of: any bridge, road, or farm plot.

In my testing, for single-z-level water over roads, it's visible if you view it from a z-level higher than that on which the underlying construction exists.

Is this in Graphics mode or Classic ASCII mode? In ASCII mode, water or lava should show up as "≈" characters (which won't indicate depth) unless you designate the building items as Hidden (in which case depth will show up properly). Or at least that's how it used to be in older versions.

This is graphics mode (Category "Graphics and Sprites").

Oh, that's interesting... Your comment made me curious what would happen if I made the road hidden, and doing so makes the water show up normally! When viewing submerged road on the road's z-level, the water is hidden when the road isn't, and vice versa. (You still can't select the hidden road building, as expected.)

It's more complicated for road under construction. Construction that has begun has three stages: "Construction initiated.", "Partially constructed.", and "Construction nearly done.". Submerged roads that are "Construction initiated." show both the water and the road tile underneath. (This is true whether hidden or not since, I think like most buildings under construction, they can't actually be hidden, regardless of the hidden setting.) Submerged roads in later stages of construction are displayed the same way as fully built roads.
