Summary0013293: Injured Mayor - Meetings Disrupt Healthcare
DescriptionMy mayor is badly injured and needs treatment in the hospital. When he is unconscious, healthcare works normally. However, when he is awake, due to his position as mayor, he gets a constant barrage of meeting invitations from dwarves who want to file complaints or visitors who would like to move in. These meeting attempts fail over and over, disrupting both the mayor's healthcare treatments and making the dwarves awaiting meetings gradually very angry about waiting around indefinitely.

He wanders off to try to take their meetings instead of waiting for his healthcare treatment to finish. This includes wandering out of bed rest when further treatment is scheduled and wandering off the traction bench while still in traction. He gets to the nearby stairs to head to his office and then gets too winded and collapses. The dwarves will not rescue him until I forcibly disrupt the cycle by telling him to station from the militia squad menu. The station order seems to temporarily break/disrupt the cycle enough to end the current meeting attempt, then he gets rescued and dragged back to bed/traction. Once he wakes up, the cycle repeats.

This cycle has been repeating for about one full season and shows no sign of improving any time soon.

There are several possible complicating factors:
The mayor is a vampire, which allows him to survive some injuries that would kill a normal dwarf - especially months of not being able to breathe.
He has a recuperation attribute of "He is incredibly quick to heal" which is probably helping keep him alive despite his injuries.
Injuries: Severe, from 100 hammer strikes due to a justice system penalty. He cannot breathe and his ability to stand and grasp are lost. Nearly every part of his body is badly injured by the hammer strikes and most wounds are infected. He has one injury that requires the traction bench (overlapping fracture). While some parts are gradually healing, many spots are still marked as "smashed apart".
Steps To ReproduceInjure the mayor enough to require significant healthcare. Watch people wait to meet with the mayor while the mayor is getting treated in a hospital for injuries. Watch the mayor attempt to take meetings when conscious, even when this disrupts healthcare.
Additional InformationIt may be helpful to prevent citizens and visitors from trying to initiate a meeting with the mayor whenever the mayor has a healthcare treatment scheduled.

It may be helpful to change the mayor's relative priorities on taking meetings vs taking healthcare treatment to prioritize healthcare above meetings. While it is useful to have the mayor prioritize meetings highly, he is literally working himself to death when injured.

While vampire mayors are a bit niche, they can be relatively common in older worlds (250 or 500 years for age of the world generation settings). Their long lifespan means they gain very high social skills, making them good candidates for mayoral elections.
