| Summary | 0013420: bard creates new dependency music or poem instead of selecting existing work | ||||
| Description | This happens in both world gen and adventure mode. The description doesn't match game behavior, and game behavior puts too much onus on individual bards to be multi-skilled. Also, game behavior doesn't match real life, but that's less important I suppose. For choreographed dances dependent on composed music, the description of the choreographed dance says, "the choreographer has selected Song Name". But the same hf that choreographed the dance composes the music at the same time. If there is pre-existing music avaliable to them (eg: known written content in adventure mode) they should choose from that list. If that list is empty (or they randomly feel like it), then they would have to compose music too. The dance form description says, "the dance is accompanied by any composition of Musical Form Name" and to be nitpicky, it should say "accompanied by *a* composition of". The same thing applies to composed music dependent on "produced individual poems". And naturally, it applies doubly to choreographed dances dependent on composed music that's dependent on produced individual poems. The quick fix, I guess, is changing the description text. But adding a selection menu in adventure mode, (and randomly selecting in world gen) would mean the choreographer unit would not also have to be skilled in poetry to produce an all-around banger. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | in an exported region file, search for "individual dances.*any composition", "individual pieces of music.*any composition", or "individual dances.*any composition.*any composition". For adventure mode, make character belonging to the civ that produces that art form. Compose or choreograph a work for that art form. For world gen, check all written content from that art form, the dependency will be the next written content (so the dance is actually created before the music) and produced by the same hf. | ||||
