Summary0001474: Dying of thirst = partial skeleton
DescriptionSo I've had a few dwarves die of thirst due to doing crazy from failed moods. I check the coffins after a while, and they are all listed as 'partial skeletons' - despite being completely intact and uninjured (other then nutrition, anyway) when they died.
Steps To Reproducehave dwarf die of thirst
watch him rot
check his skeleton
Additional Informationat first I thought it was related to the bug that lists all dead creatures as missing their upper body on the preferences screen, however I have a large number of intact skeletons from goblins and such so I guess not.

I'm not sure if dwarves killed from other methods (such as goblin spears) show up as intact or partial skeletons. I will update it if I find out.

Is the skull sitting in the coffin separately or anything?

nope, the skull does not get separated at all. It's just "Urist Mcbadluck's partial skeleton" in the coffin.

An update, my Liaison was murdered by goblin archers (and his corpse was intact, i.e. not mangled or partial or anything). He was stuffed into a coffin and rotted away into a partial skeleton too.

I also rechecked my stocks and I don't see any intact goblin skeletons. I had mistaken some tigermen names for goblin names, and some intact goblin corpses for intact skeletons. My only intact skeletons are from animals and animalmen. The various elf and human traders, and enemy dwarf ambushers all seem to have ended up as partial skeletons as well so maybe it's all humanoids that end up as partial skeletons no matter how they died?

Isn't this the same as 0000658?

Probably depends on how much of a 'partial skeleton' it is. It could range anywhere from missing a toe bone and the rest intact to just a toe bone.

Please reopen this report or PM me on the forums if this isn't just from missing fingers/toes/teeth.
