Summary | 0001695: "Remv Cre" (Remove creature) command in units/jobs list does not work on some jobs, even when enabled
Description | In 40d, the "Remv Cre" (remove creature) command from the job/units list allowed you to cancel jobs on a specific dwarf. In .31, the remove creature command lights up on certain jobs, but does not actually remove them.
Steps To Reproduce | When your dwarf is doing a job that you asked to be done (i.e. not eat/drink/sleep/party/etc), go into either the 'u'nits list or the 'j'obs list, find the dwarf/job, and press 'r'. Notice that the job is still listed for the dwarf, and that after exiting the screen, the dwarf continues with performing the job.

Are you sure its a cancellable job? Even in 40D there were some jobs that weren't cancellable with the job manager, but there were other ways to cancel those jobs. |
Ok, after going back and checking, it appears that the bug is that certain jobs appear cancellable (the remove creature command shows up as enabled), but the job isn't actually cancellable. Most notably I'm seeing this on "Dump Item". I'll try to make a list of any jobs I encounter this on. Edit: It also appears that cancelling a job (specifically construct building) with Remove Creature causes the job to not be taken again later. Tried suspending and unsuspending the building construction, and my mason is still sitting with no job. |
Does this still occur after the job changes in 0.40.20? |
In 40.24 [r] is for "Set Job Repeat" so I have tried [x] which is now for "Remove Worker". tried with "Store item in stockpile" job: [x] is enabled and works (worker is removed from the job, job is set to inactive and is assigned to another worker with the previous worker getting a new job few seconds after unpausing) tried with "Construct building" job: [x] is enabled and works tried with "Dump item" job: [x] is disabled and does nothing Dumping can be cancelled via item menu with another "dump" designation (even total count of [d]s) or via designation menu with "Remove Dump" ([d]-[b]-[D]). So both in [u]nits and [j]obs it seems to no more do what this report states. |
Thanks for testing! If this problem is still present in the latest version, please PM a manager on the forums (or reopen the report). |
