Summary0001713: Berserk Dorf in Hospital Zone can't be attacked by squad.
DescriptionAn injured dorf went berserk. I drafted my two just arrived immigrants into a squad and sent a Kill order from the squad menu to kill the berserk dorf.

The berserk dorf was in a bed, in the hospital zone. The bed was recognized as apart of the zone.

The military dorf unable to carry out their kill order idle in the meeting area set up at my dining room.
Additional InformationOnce I saw that the military was unable to target the dorf, I disband the squad.

Once the berserk dorf left the hospital zone, I enter the same immigrants in the same order to kill the berserk dorf. They rushed off without a hitch to go beat the berserk dorf to death.

Do you have a save where the squad is refusing the attack the dwarf? It's very important to get saves of bugs while they're occurring. Kill orders have a lot of problems in general (0000481), so without a save it's going to be hard to tell what exactly went wrong.

FWIW, I can confirm that patients being carried TO the hospital by another dwarf can be the target of kill orders when they go berserk. However, the odd thing is that the hauling dwarf will not drop the berserk dwarf. He runs around with the angry dwarf clinging like a monkey to his back, frightened out of his wits but otherwise unharmed in any way. Possibly there should be a proviso for haulers to drop patients if they go berserk.

No I don't have a save, though it should be reproducible.

When my current fortress is mature enough to handle injured dorfs, I'll go about reproducing it as best as I can. Does anyone know how to get the berserk status to come on demand or more frequently?

Berserk-ness is one of the forms of insanity. Dwarves go insane (equal chances for madness, melancholy or berserk) if they get extremely unhappy and/or fail a mood. So, yeah, just piss them off however you can.

Please reopen this report or PM me on the forums once a save has been uploaded to http://dffd.wimbli.com/
