| Description | I was messing around with the world gen parameters while working on something else. After a while I found the greys and dark cyans hard to read. I tabbed away, tabbed back and it came good - eventually, watching it I could see that most of the texts were slowly fading to black, aside from the FPS counter and the selected parameter's value. The text would come brighter again once the selector was moved. At that time I could reproduce the fade out effect every time I idled on the edit params screen. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | I tried it again at home on an XP computer but so far have not been able to get a repeat performance. I don't know if its OS related - the only OTHER thing that was remarkable about the situation where it happened was I initially downloaded the "small" version, had heaps of problems with "file not found data/art/mouse.png" etc even though they were all there, so I unzipped the large version over the top of the small version (leaving init.txt the same) and it all started working fine (apart from the fadeouts). When I tried to reproduce it at home I just used the large version. | ||||
| Additional Information | I had the print mode set to ACCUM_BUFFER and blackspace NO and the window was stretched. | ||||

My best guess is that it was the OS dimming the window. If you get it to reproduce and it's not the OS, feel free to reopen this. |

I was using windows 7 and I've never seen this behaviour before (in windows 7). It was only happening on the Dwarf Fortress window, too. Yes, it was a little like when the screen starts to dim out in Ubuntu when the screensaver is about to kick in - apart from that it didn't dim all items in the window, and it was a very very slow fade out. I don't think it was the OS doing it - but I haven't been able to reproduce it and it might have been fixed in 31.08 so feel free to reclose this if no one else experiences anything like it. |
