Summary0002862: Gear assemblies linked to a lever re-activate on their own after being deactivated with the lever
DescriptionI set up a system drawing power from windmills and transferring it to two pumps in my farming area. Each pump is connected to the system with one gear assembly, and each of those gear assemblies is linked to one lever. I pulled each lever once to deactivate the pumps while I wait for the reservoir to fill up, only to find the pumps running when I checked back on it. I ordered each lever pulled again (thinking maybe I just forgot) and watched closely, the dwarves pulled the levers and the pumps stopped working. I went to look at stuff someplace else, and when I returned, the pumps were running AGAIN. And no, there are no gremlins nearby ;)
Steps To ReproduceBuild a pump and a windmill, connect the two with at least one gear assembly (and maybe some axles), link the gear assembly to a lever, pull the lever.

tried re-reproducing after save/load, didn't happen again... maybe I need to wait longer, or maybe save/load fixes this. If it happens again, I'll post an update.

If you pull lever several times right away it won't do anything. You need to wait until the reset period of the thing its linked to before pulling the lever again will have any effect.

Try this with a bridge. Build a build, link it to a lever, and put the lever on repeat pull. The dwarf will furiously pull at the lever but it does not make the bridge raise or lower any faster.

Gear assemblies respond immediately to lever pulls, so that shouldn't be an issue. However, pumps do continue to run for a short duration even after they have been disconnected from power, though only for less than a second (at 100fps).
