Summary0003777: One of these Leopards will die of old age, which will it be?
DescriptionI have about eleven caged leopards in my current fort, I'm trying to organise my various animals to try and regain a few FPS. My current save is midwinter, and I can leave all of them till spring, and one will die of old age. I can then go back to the midwinter save and slaughter 10 leopards, and when spring arrives, one will die of old age. Going back to the save a third time, I can slaughter ten Leopards, including the one that died of old age and sparing one that did not, and come spring, the Leopard who survived the first run through WILL DIE OF OLD AGE!

It seems like the game has decided that a Leopard should die of old age, and it doesn't care which one, only that one of them dies! I've gone through this several times, and each time it's a different Leopard that dies of old age.

Interesting.

Are they all in the same cage? Are there 11 leopards in 1 cage, or 11 leopards in 11 cages?

If they are all in the same cage how do you know which one is which? If they're in separate cages then it should be easy to keep track of them.

You may have quantum leopards on your hands.

its easy to say which one is which because they are sorted by id and the one longest in fort will always be on top of the lists.

does it happen when you separate them into 11 cages as well?

I have all of them in one cage, or I did anyway, they may have been thrown into the magma sea in a fit of childish annoyance. It wasn't the one on the top of my list of animals though, that's what made me report this, since as has been mentioned, the oldest are at the top of the list.

Look at me, all posting stuff in the wrong bug report. Don't have this save anymore, moving the update to the right place.

If you want to close this one I wont complain, we can just chalk it up to the UI being made out of arseholes and hate and move on.

There is no way the situation can be checked and the bug tracked and fixed without the save file.
Next time don't delete the save after you report the bug and are asked to upload...
