Summary0004047: Site finder giving false readings, possibly tied in with the embark crash issue recently posted in 3972.
DescriptionThe site finder comes up positive on all specified parameters, (high rain, yes flux, no aquifer, no river, some soil, and yes clay set, on a basic world gen (all standard settings on world size/specs), medium sized. When it does work, I get the error mentioned in 3972. Otherwise, the site results list comes up, listing multiple positive matches, each one when looked at has maybe 1-2 out of all the settings I requested, soil and deep metal, clay and shallow metals, none of the 100% matches claimed by the finder at any of the highlighted sites.
Steps To ReproduceSimply gen a world under default settings, specify the site finder options stated above, and wait for a full finer run, then browse all the sites, noting each false positive.
Additional InformationThis has occurred in 4 worldgens in a row for me, so shouldn't be too difficult to reproduce.

Clarification, they were also single and double biome sites, if that affects the outcome at all. The results were listings of the total combinations in the double biomes, and the solitary listing for single biome sites.

I generated a small region and had the site finder come up positive with your parameters. Every site I checked was a true positive.

Can you gen a world and upload it for review?

Also, post a screenshot or series of shots that shows the problem.

And just to be sure, you realize the site finder is looking for sites that fit within your embark rectangle - it will be positive if those items are available in that size - even if 2 are in one biome and 2 more are in another. As long as it fits in the rectangle, it is a positive.

Aye, that's exactly why I clarified earlier, however, it appeared to be a remnant from those hang crashes from before. Deleted the entire dwarf fortress folder, instead of just the world save, and reinstalled clean, appears to have fixed it. One of the earliest crashes related to 3972 resulted in a hard power down to correct, may have corrupted some of the game files. I apologize for not catching the reason behind the error sooner, preferably before I tied up a post with a mere file corruption hitch versus a true bug.
