Summary0004092: Water freezes to ice even when Inside
DescriptionI have been attempting to create a lovely waterfall for my dwarves at the entrance to my fort, from an aquifer 5 z-levels above in the cliff the fort burrows into. It works fine, except that even when roofed over, some of the part that extends outside freezes.

Looking at the tiles that froze and the tiles that are still water, I cannot detect any specific distinction that separates them. They all appear as Above Ground, Inside, Light. There are also a couple of tiles that are Above Ground, Outside, Light that did not freeze.
Steps To ReproduceFind or create some water exposed to the air. Roof it over. Observe which parts of it freeze and which do not.
Additional InformationI have uploaded a save file to DFFD: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=3868

Pressing F4 will zoom to the top of the partly-frozen waterfall in question.

Outdoor/indoor has nothing to do with tile temperature - the only thing that matters is "subterranean" (temperature fixed at 10015) versus "above ground" (temperature varies according to weather, which may vary according to biome).

Ah—so the issue here is that the frozen tiles are on one side of the biome border, while the liquid tiles are on the other side, then?

In that case, I think the Wiki needs to have this clarified somewhat...

It would be nice if "inside" affected temperature, but it doesn't really. Makes it a bit trickier to make fancy water traps on the surface.
