Summary | 0004264: Newborn babies have beards, worship gods, and have favorite foods
Description | Are dwarf children really supposed to have beards at the age of 4? And should a 3 month old baby really have a dozen different likes and dislikes, and need alcohol to get through the working day? (The "needs alcohol" part may be true, but the "working" part doesn't make sense.) And on top of that, she's already a faithful worshipper of one god, and a dubious worshipper of another. Certain characteristics should be hidden on children and babies. 4 year olds shouldn't have beards.

All dwarven characteristics are currently generated at birth in Dwarf Fortress mode in the present version, except body size and shape, which can be affected by food. Ideally all of these things you listed would eventually be dynamic but it is to be expected in the present version. I believe beards at age 1 are defined in the RAWs, currently, so you could change that yourself. The other stuff starts becoming a suggestion which is better on the suggestions forum. |
