Summary | 0004271: Dwarf Fortress makes Windows Vista crash on shutdown
Description | Every time I play Dwarf Fortress, even if I do nothing else on my computer, Windows Vista crashes when I try to shut it down. This always happens when I play Dwarf Fortress and never happens when I don't. Maybe Dwarf Fortress has a memory leak.

It's highly unlikely that this could be caused by Dwarf Fortress, since usermode applications typically aren't capable of having this sort of effect on the operating system. Your system instability is likely being caused by viruses/malware or faulty hardware - it might be worth testing your system's RAM (I think there's an option on the Vista install DVD for that) and/or checking for excessive dust buildup. |
|
Also, as always, update your drivers. |
