Summary | 0004303: Dwarf Fortress NEEDS alphabetization
Description | The biggest pain in the ass in Dwarf Fortress, by far, is the lack of alphabetical order absolutely everywhere. It adds terrible tedium to everything you do, but most especially bringing stones, ores, meat, or leather with you on embark, customizing stone stockpiles, changing economic stone settings, forbidding stones, customizing furniture, refuse, bar/blocks, gems, finished goods, or leather stockpiles. Customizing wood stockpiles is a bizzare pain in the ass, because the list there includes every plant in the game even if it is not a tree. Customizing food stockpiles for plants has the same problem, because trees are included in the list of edible plants even though they don't belong there. EVERY LIST should be in alphabetical order. For lists that are already sorted in some kind of logical order (for example the list of stones for constructions, which is sorted by distance), you should be able to choose whether to sort by logical order or alphabetical order.
