| Description | Some of my soldiers carry backpacks/flasks with them, some don't. I have an enormous surplus of backpacks and flasks, yet they still insist on occasionally carrying booze barrels and meals out on their patrols, dropping them in the middle of nowhere, resulting in haulers having to wander outside to pick up after them. | ||||

found the following workaround: 1. order your squads to carry no water/food 2. wait for the arsenal dwarf to finish upgrading the squad equippment 3. now order your squads to carry drinks/food 4. wait again for the arsenal dwarf to finish his job Now your squads should be assigned with flasks and backpacks. |

still persists, even in 0.31.25 I've seen this especially if the squad is standing down and is called into action. Whatever they were carrying at the time (barrel, rock, etc), instead of dropping it they carry it to where ever they are going. So, to see the problem, wait until your dwarves are drinking, now order the squad to a station point. Some will be carrying they barrels with them. |

Toady may need an up-to-date save (0.34.02+) to fix this problem. It would be helpful for someone to upload a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ and post the link here. |

All of my soldiers carried backpacks and waterskins properly, thought the part of the bug about they carrying barrels around when inactive still happens. |

Since the arsenal dwarf is gone and 34.11 fixed some issues with gathering and using equipment, I believe this has been fixed at some point. If someone can show otherwise with a current save, please PM me on the forums. The part about hauling barrels is covered by 0000300. |
