| Description | Every season since meeting the requirements for a Baron the liaison made the offer, but the baron was never appointed. This happened five years in a row until I gave up on the fort. I selected the same dwarf for promotion the first three times, and two different dorfs after that, but nothing changed. I moved the save over to a linux box for testing and the bug persisted, but I seem to have misplaced the save. Did you use the world gen seeds you linked again, to generate a world and see if the problem happened again? I use random world gen seeds, and I have never encountered this problem before, BTW. |

I regenerated the world and started over but it will be a while before I'm eligible for a baron. this is the first time I've encountered this particular bug as well and it may turn out to be a glitch in the matrix, but you never know. |

Did each liaison properly finish the meeting and leave the fortress? |

Yes, the process seemed to go smoothly each time. I didn't even have to perform the "lock the mayor in his room until the merchants leave the map" workaround. very odd. |
