| Description | Built a workshop and a wood stockpile around it. Set jobs via the manager, and confirmed that they were in queue at the building. But the carpenter won't work on them. He'll sit around with no job if I remove all other tasks, even though the workshop is full of requests. built a new carp shop elsewhere, and he gets right to work, so there's something about this particular shop. | ||||

Is the workshop or the carpenter in a burrow? Could you have accidentally set an incompatible workshop (P)rofile in the workshop? Edit - have you accidentally forbidden the material the workshop is made from? |

As well, is the workship accessible? Some tiles of workshops are not passable, so you can end up with an inaccessible workshop (this usually results in dwarves getting trapped inside the workshop). |

@Knight_Otu - I don't have any burrows defined. I checked the Profile just to be sure, and it allows anyone - but none of my 3 carpenters would touch it. I have since removed the workshop as it was wasting space, but I am pretty sure I didn't forbid the material - cannot be 100% sure though. @Logical2u - The workshop was fully accessible - there was a stockpile surrounding it, which the dwarves happily emptied once I removed it. They could get all around it, but just chose not to use it for some reason. |
