Actually, allow me to append to this: it also happens with deconstructing an up stair that is attached only to the ground. |

I can't reproduce this. Building an up stairway and an up/down stairway, I can remove the up/down stairway, then remove the up stairway without a cave-in occurring. Removing the up stairway without first removing the up/down stairway does result in a cave-in because it then becomes unattached. Are you certain there is nothing attached to those stairs you are deconstructing? |

No, there was definitely nothing attached to the stairs; for that matter, deconstructing stairs on the Z-level directly above the ground (when there were only stairs on Z-0/Z-1) produced a cave-in. I'll try to reproduce this again later today, and upload a save or video if necessary. |
