Summary | 0005024: Can't fish: tell me that I need an empty trap
Description | Hey there, dwarf fortress is an amazing game despite it's still have big updates to do in order to fix the issues... Well, I started a new game ( i dunno if it does always the same ) but I can't fish. There's plenty of water source ( murky pools ) but when I order to catch a fish, an announcement tells me: *Dwarf* cancels Catch live fish: Need empty trap. so it's certainly a problem because we dont need traps to fish. the reproducibility is always. thanks for help
Additional Information | also some out of context informations, I killed some mountain goat, created corpse's stockpiles but my dwarves never go pick up the corpse. anyway

There are two different ways to fish - giving a dwarf the Fishing labor, which will result in catching dead raw fish that will be stored in the food stockpiles/prepared at the fishery; - and giving the command to Capture Live Fish, which requires an animal trap, and doesn't kill the fish (which makes it a potential pet). See http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Fisherdwarf and related articles on the wiki for more information. -------- Corpse stockpiles are for storing the corpses of dwarves and pets before their burial. Carcasses of animals and corpses of enemies go to the refuse stockpiles. |
