Summary0005142: Giant Mosquitos sucking life from frame-rate.
DescriptionGiant Mosquitos are appearing in a swarm of 100-300 individuals. This has a severely detrimental effect on the frame rate. I speculate that the frequent changes of Z-level may be a factor. They are difficult to kill, although attempting may discourage the swarm as a whole, causing it to move on... not sure if the dropping numbers are random factors, seasonal factors, or the nuisance of hundreds of wooden bolts being fired at them.
Steps To ReproduceStrike the earth near a warm/hot
Additional InformationIt might be better to model giant mosquito populations by including biomass into the equation. Sure, regular mosquitos appear in the thousands, but number is linear, volume is cubic. Mosquitos must ingest blood to survive.

This happened to me too. Went from 100 FPS to 15 when a swarm of a hundred of them showed up. Of course, I couldn't say whether 100 dwarves or 100 goblins would have impacted the framerate any more.
