Summary0005280: When space runs out, crops are left to whither in the field
DescriptionI've only setup 2 new forts since I updated to 34.02, but both of them have had the same issue, where if the food stockpile fills up, plants are dumped in the field and forgotten. Normally, I would expect to be able to add more space to the stockpile and the issue would be resolved, but it's too late by that point.

My dwarfs will plant new seeds under the other plant, and won't touch it until it completely dies, and then they'll remove the rotting plant out to my refuse pile.
Steps To ReproduceI included the save file if you want to see it in action, but I've noticed it twice when:

1. You have plants ready to be harvested (In this save, Plump Helmets)
2. Food stockpile is completely full
3. Dwarfs go to harvest the plants, but have no place to take them to
4. Realize that you didn't get the barrel industry going fast enough, add more food storage space
5. Watch the food rot in the fields while dwarfs sit idle and do nothing.
6. Check the job list, and realize hauling them to the stockpile isn't there.
Additional InformationGoogle is hosting the zip with the Save file, as well as a picture of the fields from the first fort, and pictures of the field and entire job list from the second fort.

#############NOTE##################
The saved game is really big, I like playing on bigger maps. It's roughly a 9x9 from when you're setting up the fort. Load this game at your own risk.

That sounds pretty much like how it should be working. Remember, dwarves are stupid. They make artefact trumpets out of leather, cut the floor out from under themselves, knock out support pillars holding the roof up above their heads, and if they catch fire they go to bed to sleep it off (If you are lucky. If you are unlucky they go grab a drink first).

Planting fields is one job, and hauling things to a stockpile is a second job. What is happening is that the planting job is going on regardless, but because there is no stockpile space, the job to pick the harvest and haul it to the stockpile isn't working.

Also, don't bother with barrels. Make stone pots at a craftsdwarfs shop. Same thing, but made of stone. Saves on wood.

So, I doubt this is a bug. You just need to keep an eye on what's going on.

Ok, if this isn't a bug then, shouldn't I see the hauling job show up under the jobs list when I open a new stockpile specifically for food? Or normal behavior for them is to ignore them? I'll play more into the second save, free stuff up, see what happens.

Ok, it looks like if I just leave things open for a while, they do actually notice that there is open space and run back to pick things up. The jobs to haul the items are added back very slowly. Can I close this?
