Summary0005613: Tame Human Child in Dwarf Fort
DescriptionAt some point or another, a Human Child showed up in my fort. I think she came with an immigrant wave.
Anyway, she's considered a pet, is indicated to be tame, and shows up in my dwarf unit list rather than the pet listing.

On a side note, she's 13, but the raws indicate she should be a human adult now.

You could try looking her up by name in legends mode to see how she ended up like that.

No sign of her in legends. Although I did have to revert to a previous save and I was checking in legends before she showed up. About a year earlier, tops.

Customized init files, dwarf therapist, and dfhack. Don't think any of those should be causing this thing.

Does the human child have any familial relationships listed?

The save was lost (user error involving dfhack's "immolate all" command. Turns out that command really does mean everything). However, I recall that she had no available relations screen, familial or otherwise.
The game's last backup was before she arrived, so maybe she'll show back up when I play some more, or a similar case.

A save from a few seconds before the child's arrival would be perfect, if you can manage it.

Well, I went back to playing, and eventually the bug repro'd. Sort of, at least. This time it's an 11-year-old boy by the name of Est Abuthstruslot.
He has a relationship page, but it's blank.

 Aaand then things started getting HILARIOUS.

Now we've got a tame human animal caretaker.

And an olm man vampire. Did I not mention that vampires also come pre-revealed for me? That's not normal, is it?

Anyway, these two new... um... residents? can have various jobs assigned to them. They wont do the jobs, but we can assign them to jobs. Still pasturable.
I'm going to try re-downloading DF. See if something really wierd happened on install or something.

Instead of uploading a second save, I'm just going to replace the first one with this. Same scenario, just more ridiculous.

 Fixed in 0.42?

Humans, goblins, elves and other races can be proper citizens of the fort now.

And those who were listed as 'tame' in previous versions are listed like normal citizens when save is loaded in 0.42.
Though, I no longer can assign jobs to some, for instance, merchants which were forcefully made citizens with dfhack.
