Summary | 0005712: One dwarf taking up two barony/county/duchy slots
Description | Due to locking up my vampire mayor for half a decade or so, then realising the diplomats that have been showing up and hanging around will eventually do something !FUN! I removed the wall to my vampire mayor and let the diplomats have their chat one by one. It was my first time dealing with the barony recommendation screen, so I chose a founder and left it at that. I get the exact same screen a few minutes later, from a different diplomat. I wasn't sure if it was a confirmation screen or something, since I could still pick the same founder, which I did. A few months pass, he gets his nobility title. Followed quickly by another. This continued from Baron Baron to Count Count and Duke Duke, taking up both nobility roles, though seemingly nothing more harmful than that.
Steps To Reproduce | Lock mayor in solitude for several years until you're sure at least two diplomats have come with news about a nobility recommendation. Release the mayor, chose the same guy twice, voila.
Additional Information | Just a screenshot of how it looks like in the nobility menu: http://i.imgur.com/dF9Jq.png

What happens if you select a different dwarf the second time? Do you end up with two barons? |
|
^ I assumed that 2 nobles was the norm? I'm pretty sure I would have ended up with 2 different barons/counts/dukes or their female equivalent. |
|
It has never been "the norm" to have two dwarves occupying the same position - the closest thing to that would be the old 2D versions where the baron + count + duke were all separate nobles and you had one of each (but never more than one of each). |
|
Then I suppose this is one way to have two nobles, though that's just putting extra annoying in your fortress. |
