Summary | 0005907: Deconstruction results in falling blocks injuring dwarves
Description | Now that falling objects injure creatures, deconstruction has become quite dangerous. Dwarves will drop the block used in the wall/floor where it was, often resulting in it falling -- injuring anything that happens to be underneath that construction. Especially noticeable is that a dwarf will stand underneath a down stair while deconstructing it, resulting in him immediately getting hit by the block and getting injured. It'd be really nice if when deconstructing, a dwarf would place the block on the tile he's standing on. Or better yet, into his inventory to haul it somewhere. Deconstructing is already quite annoying and having it also be very deadly is immensely frustrating.

It is intended, now object can collide with creature and hurt them. |

^^^ You didn't read the report. |
|
Yes, I did read the report, "dwarf will stand underneath a down stair while deconstructing it, resulting in him immediately getting hit by the block" beacuse its the only way to deconstruct it, below it,and as the report said, the dwarf should be able to grab the block and put it elsewhere. |
|
This bug basically makes construction projects impossible, since scaffolding is sure to kill off your dwarves. I lost 6 while deconstructing 3 4-block high up-down-stairs, and others were injured. Apparently marble is quite heavy. |

a workaround would be to simply dont spawn the block on the now gone construction (and thus falling down) but on the tile the dwarf is standing on (be it the upstair or the floor next to it etc) so they dont drop everything all the time and hurt other dwarves with it... |
