| Description | Equipping your marksdwarf with a backup short sword seems like a fine idea, right? Only problem is that it doesn't work half the time. They're as likely to try to smack the opponent with the crossbow as they are to actually draw the sword and attack properly. Say what you want, but I'd call that a fairly important glitch. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1) Equip your dwarf with a crossbow and a short sword. 2) Send it into battle with no crossbow bolts. 3) Watch it fail basic logic, hard. | ||||

AFAIK this is intended behavior for now -- Toady has not yet attempted to implement weapon selection AI. Some buggier aspects are covered at 0002502. |
