Summary | 0006152: Dwarves not bothering to go eat or drink
Description | I have lost a dwarf who was mining who finished my designated digging stayed in place and died because he never bothered to go eat or drink anything. The same issue is occuring again although now I am trying to get this miner to get out of the cavern with meeting zones and assigning other jobs but he will not move, he should be able to get out just fine since there were no cave-ins or anything like that. I also have an overabundance of food and drink so its not that there is nothing to get in the first place. It also seems like no one is hauling the various ores and gems in the same cavern I have that needs hauling either.
Steps To Reproduce | I am thinking this has something to do with my food stockpiles being on the first underground level right below the surface and its too far for the dwarves to travel.

Your fortress layout probably incorporates unusable ramps (you can verify this by examining them using the Loo[k] command) which are leaving your dwarves stranded and unable to reach food or drink. |
|
I thought it could be something like that. I assume that these unusable ramps can allow a dwarf to go down but not back up right? |
|
No - if a ramp is "unusable", it cannot be used in any direction. |
